The Wichmann Diesel Engine type AX, AXA, AXG, AXAG is a two-stroke engine scavenged by mechanical driven Root’s blower.
AX engines is of the block type, and cylinder liners have integrally casts cooling water jackets.
The pistons are oil cooled.
AX/AXA: Rpm range 290 to 375.
Both the clutch and the pitch control servomotor are totally enclosed in the aft end of the bedplate.
AXG/AXAG: Rpm range 415 to 480.
AXG/AXAG engines are connected to a externally reduction gear and servo system.
