The Wärtsilä 25SG was Wärtsilä's first spark ignited natural gas engine, in production from 1994 to the stop of production in Trollhättan in 1999. It was available in 6-cylinder inline version and in 12- and 16-cylinder V-configuration.
The W25SG was designed specifically for CHP (combined heat and power) applications, with high lube oil and cooling water temperatures which allow for high outtake of additional heat off the engine.
