The Wichmann Diesel Engine type AC, ACA, ACAT is a two-stroke engine scavenged by mechanical driven Root's blower. AC engines is of the block type, and cylinder liners have integrally casts cooling water jackets. The pistons are oil cooled.
The engine is fitted with a hydraulically operated controllable pitch propeller and double cone friction clutch. Both the clutch and the pitch control servomotor are totally enclosed in the aft end of the bedplate. Direction of rotation is counter-clockwise rotation. AC engines may be delivered with or without turbocharger.
