Grand opening of QuantiParts premises in the Netherlands

With pride QuantiParts had the inauguration of the new warehouse and office location in Hattem on June 5th. The new location, strategically located only 6 km’s from the former location in Zwolle, offers QuantiParts the opportunity to further grow our organisation and activities.

Magnus Kronholm, Wärtsilä’s director Product Lifecycle Management, and Job van der Burgt, Director QuantiParts, had the pleasure of performing the opening ceremony. Together with the QuantiParts employees, local stakeholders, neighbouring companies and suppliers the festive and memorable inauguration was made to a success.

While Job thanked all local stakeholders and decision-makers, he also emphasised the fact that the entire warehouse was moved without a single serious accident as an extraordinary achievement of the QuantiParts Logistics team. Magnus thanked the entire QuantiParts team of their performance and highlighted that QuantiParts plays an important role in the road to sustainability for the Wärtsilä Corporation.

Relocating a warehouse takes time

The move of all engine spare parts, new and reconditioned from the previous stock location in Zwolle has been a serious undertaking. It has taken over 350 truckloads or 3300 tons of weight over a period of 12 weeks. With just one week of actual logistical shutdown, followed by a gradual startup in week 16, shipment volumes are now back, and above, the volumes needed to serve our customers in the most efficient way.
