Sourcing Specialist

Welcome at QuantiParts, a Wärtsilä company! For our location in Zwolle we are looking for a Technical Purchaser who will take care of the development and selection of the Quantiparts supplier base.

Job description

In this position you will be working on the planning, acquisition, monitoring and correction of the flow of technical goods, from the supplier until delivery at our services warehouse in Zwolle. Since we are a customer minded organisation you will work in close cooperation with our sales department, to understand the customers needs and act on this by searching for the best material availability and look for the most suitable solutions. In order to facilitate our customers in the best way, you create and deliver sourcing benefits to the businesses such as obsolescence management, zero defect quality, on time deliveries and cost- and lead time reduction.

QuantiParts offers its customers spare parts for classic Wärtsilä medium- and high-speed engines. We employ about 80 people in Zwolle and France, with customers and suppliers all over the world. In this position you will be working in a team with 9 other sourcing specialists and in close cooperation with Sales, Quality, Warehouse, Technical Support, Wärtsilä procurement and of course Suppliers.

 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • You take care of the operational procurement activities such as: order processing for parts, execution of materials demand and inventory planning, proactive order monitoring; stock level analyses and cost price development
  • You solve day to day supplier issues regarding delivery, availability, and/or payments.
  • Create a sourcing plan and develop specific action plans to improve the overall performance of the suppliers.
  • You manage, monitor and report supplier performance against agreements and on quality, delivery, reliability & lead times and costs.
  • Properly follow stock level and relevant supply indicators and are aware of overall profitability.

What do we expect from you?

  • You hold a Bachelor degree in combination with several years of experience within procurement, supply chain management within a technical and international organisation.
  • A Certificate in NEVI 1, and NEVI 2 is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is seen as an advantage.
  • To solve problems, you are able to think and act fast, and keep things as simple as possible.
  • You have experience with international negotiations and analysing supply chain processes.
  • Affection with diesel engines, marine and power plant market.   
  • Excellent social and communication skills in English and Dutch, both oral and written.

Sales Engineer

Due to a recent expansion of our engine portfolio, we are looking for three new colleagues to join us in the position of Sales Engineer and drive our sales growth in the Americas, Europe and Middle East-Asia.

 Your main goal is to coordinate all customer order requests related to spare parts and technical support for classical engines, which are located around the globe in the most diverse applications in the Marine and Energy business. You are a goal getter in preparing sales offers, order handling and deal closing.  You guide our logistics team in transportation of all required spare parts towards our Maritime and Energy customers. You are continuously looking for ways to improve our customer’s satisfaction and strive for the most accurate and efficient way to serve our customers.

You will be responsible for your own group of customers and prospects. In this dynamic position, you are continuously in contact with global customers, network companies, distributors and several Quantiparts and Wärtsilä colleagues. You will work in a team consisting of multiple Sales Engineers and Sales Support Specialists and will report to the Area Sales Manager.

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • You sell spare parts and field service projects directly to our customers, network companies or distributors.
  • Translate customer’s questions into technical specifications and correct products.
  • Actively follow-up on customer requests and communicate with internal and external stakeholders about orders and offers.
  • You prepare and coordinate customer or inspection visits for specific orders
  • Ensure correctness of installed base with our customers and network.
  • Be prepared for additional technical and sales product trainings
  • You are aware of the overall profitability and the sales margin in your orders.

 

What do we expect from you?

  • You have a technical background at vocational or bachelor’s level combined with a few years of working experience within a (services) sales organisation.
  • Any experience with the maritime industry or diesel engines is a clear advantage.
  • You have a customer mind-set and service-oriented attitude with a Can-Do mentality.
  • You are fluent in English; any second foreign language is definitely an advantage.
  • You have excellent teamwork skills with an entrepreneurial spirit.
